Last days of summer...

Days are getting shorter, mornings are getting colder but there's still the light of the September sun that manages to warm everything around. Summer is not over yet, and we should take advantage of every bit of that sunlight.

The photos you'll see here, were taken on a hot August day some weeks ago by photographer Sarah Emily St-Gelais and even though that day was so humid and hot, when Emily finished editing them and send them to me, they made me feel as if they were taken today, on this fresh and sunny September day.

I met Emily more than a year ago and since then we have been talking back and forth about a photo shoot for my jewellery and for some reason or another it wasn't until this summer that we started really planing it. She got a fantastic team for this shoot: stylist Maude Boisjoly, make up artist Sarah Ladouceur and model Marianne Caron

This was such an experience for me: the very first time I have ever had professional help with these kind of things and it was amazing to see how this works! Plus I had a fantastic time with these girls, click here at this post I made about the shoot day!

One of the things I like the most about these photos is that they feel like if Emily is telling a story and that's precisely what I wanted, to tell a story about my jewellery. Up to you to interpret it your particular way :) Come see:

Thanks so much Emily for your vision and talent! Thanks so much Maude, Sarah and Marianne for doing this, you are all amazing!

There are more photos to come, stay tuned! Yay!

Media event for Etsy: Made in Canada Montreal

Super adorable welcome sign Cara Carmina made for us!

Last Wednesday we invited some of our favourite bloggers/media for tea at Ma Douce Moitie cafe to let them know about the exciting things we are planning for Etsy: Made in Canada. It was a great experience and we had such a lovely time chatting away with them and just having a good time promoting the market.

I was so nervous at first because I'm super awkward when it comes to talk to may people at the same time but the ambiance was very relaxing and the attendees were so enthusiastic and kind that all nervousness fade away and I just was so happy and chatty, haha!

Talking to the media were some of the organizers of the show like Sabine Pouquet, Michelle Beausejour and I. Also, we were lucky enough to be accompanied by three of our Etsy: made in Canada Montreal vendors: Norma from Cara Carmina, Tiffany from Twill and Print and Julie from Lilipop that shared their experiences as Etsy sellers and why they look forward to the show.

Here are some of the photos Tina Rayna took at the media event, I hope you enjoy them!!

Des Enfantillages, AKA my new obsession.

I hate to be partial but I have a new obsession and it is called Les Enfantillages. I got to know their work because they applied to be part of the Etsy: Made in Canada market and well, it was love at first sight.

Des Enfantillages made the kind of toys a person like me remembers playing with as a child but cooler, WAY COOLER.  I mean, a modern, minimalist-style jump rope in "skipping salmon" colour, YES! Or a pompom slingshot in polka dots, PLEASE! What about building blocks "wooden house in a bag" YEAH! And then all this handmade in Montreal, that's what dreams are made of.

Geneviève Lugaz and Christian Laforge (the creators behind Des Enfantillages) just about brought to me all those childhood memories all over again, and I'm liking it.

And if you are in Montreal then you are lucky because you can come see them and buy their toys at our Etsy: Made in Canada market, yay! And if you are not of the lucky ones, don't fret: they have an online shop as well. You are welcome.
